Vision in white rain

Delicate ashes, the rain
Falling softly over the deep green fields,
Yonder flies the crane
Away down the valley
Away down the hills
Flying over the heads
Of little men
With big umbrellas
Hurrying past the old mill
To their pretty little mud castles

That’s when I saw you my love
Sitting hunched near the mountain stream
Your face adorned with
Pearl drops of rain
Crying silently
That rainy morning
Looking oh-so-woe-be gone
My little peasant nymph
What ails your heart?
I’d never know
But every time I pass this way
And the sky is grey and the grass is wet under my feet
I think of you my little urchin
As those delicate ashes
Fall all over me

yes I still dream of that vision of you in white rain
